Welcome

Hello! My name is Shaina Nukho and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 15374). My passion lies in working with  Adolescents, Young Adults, and their families. My journey as a therapist has brought me to specialize in Anxiety and Trauma, As a therapist I work from a person centered approach believing that all people have the answers and simply need a little guidance finding them. I also utilize a narrative approach looking at the stories we tell ourselves and how those may be re-written. 

I graduated with My Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego in 2014. I completed my training at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego. In this training I learned Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and worked with children ages 5-18 and their families. Following this I worked as a counselor in a residential treatment center for adolescents with eating disorders. Here I facilitated groups to include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness based practices.  I have since worked in community based mental health in San Diego and the Phoenix Area working with Adolescents and their families. It was through this work that I realized the impact of trauma and became trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).  I began working in Private Practice in 2019 and decided to begin my own practice in 2021. 

I offer in Person Sessions conveniently located in Central Phoenix at 1540 E Maryland Ave Suite 201 Phoenix AZ 85014. I also offer telehealth services so you can easily access therapy services from the convenience of  your home.
